2015

Biscuits - Halloween to Christmas: October - December 2015:

I found some suitable bat and ghost pictures online and printed them off at a suitable size for reference and then bent some scraps of metal to form cake cutters. I didn't have full length strips so I cut the dough in two-halves. The rest is basic biscuity-ness.

Covered in chocolate to make them extra tasty

For Christmas ones I cut out some star shapes. This time getting adventurous with the chocolate-adding technique (although they taste better with more on).

Here is a more recent attempt from 2016:

Pasta: September 2015: I made this by hand. It's a lot of work, perhaps too much.

For 4 portions:
- 2 cups / 800g plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Make a well in the centre and add:
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon oil
Whisk, slowly bringing in the flour.
Begin to knead once thick.
Wrap for 30 minutes, then divide into 4.
Roll out, dusting with flour.
Fold into a wide flat roll and cut.
Add to boiling water for 3-4minutes.

Coffee: March - July 2015: The "new" coffee machine; learning the ropes:

Attempted Battenberg: June 2015:

I do believe this was my first (and only ever) attempt at assembling a Battenberg cake. True to form, my sponge wasn't brilliant and the whole thing was almost a fail, but it was at least edible, and rather tasty. I do like Battenberg.

Burger: March 2015:

I do like a good-sized burger and broader than it is tall. Usually a beef burger with a fried egg in there and some fried onion and/or perhaps some fried mushroom. There is always a risk of over-filling these things though.
