There's nothing wrong with instant coffee providing you avoid the cheapest and don't boil the kettle ("Coffee boiled, is coffee spoiled"), and pour the water on the granules slowly.
Of course, I do prefer "proper coffee" most of the time...

I do like this cute little one cup and teapot combination I picked up at a charity shop. I did manage to drop the lid at a later point in time, but thankfully all the pieces were successfully glued back together. In this pot I use loose-leaf tea with a slice of ginger, but other times I will use a teabag in a mug.

I'm not so good at baking sponge cakes, but the custard helps.

It turned out the machine was sat on an uneven worktop. Often now I check, part the way through the mixing cycle, to ensure all the flour is mixed into the forming dough. Soft and fluffy and white...
